<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> This paper discusses and features the age of Big Data in business macroclimate. The systematic review of influences the rapid c h a n g i n g business world today. This research explores Big Data and today’s business literature is used in this research to further understand the concepts of Big Data and how Big Data processes, models and the Internet way of utilizing data for breakthrough innovation to acclimate for the age of technology. This paper also examines the depth understanding Big Data and what will Big Data bring to our society and businesses is essential for managers and top management to fully utilize the Big Data for competitive advantage. Big Data 5V are discussed in context of business macroclimate and the Big Data influences towards business processes. The garnered interest of researchers on Big Data in business over the years is evaluated to understand the need to grasp an understanding of 5V and the conceptual framework of big data analytics in business decision making is formed. As a conclusion, the Big Data phenomenon is illustrated in business concepts and intelligence and utilizing Big Data for competitive advantages in the competitive business world with advance information age in this millennium.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The paper reviews the literature on tubercles as recent advance bio-inspired wing technology in the field of aeronautics. The purpose of this paper is to conceptually identify the work on tubercles, particularly for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology and thereby provide a delineation review and in-depth technological applications of biological systems interrelation with engineering. The paper discussed the evolution of conventional UAV wing with clean airfoil in terms of designs and mechanisms, materials and manufacturing processes, whereby all researches attributed these capabilities both in simulation and experimental studies. Tubercles, commonly known as protuberancesof a Humpback whale pectoral flipper which found on the leading edge, offering performance enhancement in terms of aerodynamic perspective. Implementing tubercles design has proven its improvement on airfoil performance, effectively reduce noise and separation bubble size. Despite the present studies on aerodynamic performance, other crucial elements such as structural performance and manufacturability of the tubercles leading edge (TLE) wing should be taken into consideration for better lifting and maneuverability of UAVs. To date, there is insufficient reviews on the structural issues of TLE wing in-depth and provides comprehensive understanding regarding this topic. Hence, thepurpose of this is mainly to demonstrate lineage of the TLE wing and current researches’ trend. This discussion will pave the way of state-of-the-art research area on this optimum performance of wing particularly in terms of manufacturability perspectives.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> There are many oil palm trunks (OPT) from the cycle of oil palm plantation cultivation at field, and this can be extended to the production of value-added products, where wood composite products are the earliest and most immediate product. However, the nature of the OPT structure is physicochemical and unique but not competent for use in wood applications. This may be due to the limitation of utilization OPT in composite material. However, in improving the properties of OPT can be done in many studies and one of these studies through the compression process. In this review, the properties of OPT were analyzed to the production of oriented strand board (OSB) process. The rapid development of research in developing and creating OSB with broader applications, higher usability and marketability and is essential to being environmentally friendly. OSB manufacturing can be generated from unused resources such as factory residues or small logs. The production of OSB from the OPT may be helpful in the production of material for structural applications. Malaysia expectations, by converting OPT to the wood-based panel (OSB), together will reduce the OPT waste and cut the timber demand. This review article covers the potential to utilize OPT biomass as OSB as wood composite panel products to replace non-wood panel products for the structural application. The investigation of this study is to find alternative materials to produce OSB from OPT, which is well-thought-out to be a biomass waste product. It also covers anatomical, mechanical and physical characteristics of OPT and how to produce OSB to improve its strength and dimensional stability.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> Natural fibre are well known for its properties where it has low density and it is also better in form of cost efficiency compared to synthetic fibre. There are not too much difference between specific properties of natural fibre and synthetic fibre although the natural fibre strength is significantly lower than synthetic fibre. This study discusses the flexural properties of a hybrid composite made from both natural fibre and synthetic fibre. In this research, kenaf fibre – non-treated and treated with NaOH solution – as well as x-ray film – non-treated and surface treated with consistent holes were chosen to investigate its flexural properties. The number of layers in this study is maintain throughout the research, which are seven layers of kenaf – treated and untreated – as well as alternating layers between kenaf fibre and x-ray films – also treated and untreated. The specimen were prepared using the normal hand lay-up process and it was tested by the three-point bending method using Instron 4204 at a speed of 15mm/min. Even though the test showed expected problems such as interfacial bonding issues, there are improvements due to treatment and the hybridization. The specimen showed results of flexural modulus of up to 8.83GPa for treated fully kenaf configuration and 3.36GPa for alternative configuration with treated kenaf. The higher flexural modulus is suitable for applications which desire a more rigid structure like a spall linear or car bumper, while the specimen with the lower flexural modulus is suitable for a more flexible structure like body armour.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> Nowadays, hybridisation between synthetic fibre and natural fibre is common due to environmental concerns and financial problem. This research was conducted to examine the effects of different glass fibre (GF) composition on the tensile properties of glass/kenaf hybrid composites. For this study, epoxy resin was used as matrix and woven glass fibres type E600 and woven kenaf fibres (KF) were used as the reinforcements. Hybrid composites fabricated by hand lay-up technique while maintaining 10 number of layers for each sample. An investigation of tensile properties of glass/kenaf hybrid composites with different weight composition of GF; 0%, 25%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 75% and 100% were carried out. The composites were tested and the results shows that sample HS5 that consists of hybridized 75% GF and 25% KF is having characteristics almost approaching the performance of sample made from 100% GF.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> Natural fibres develop many options to substitute synthetic fibres in composite industry. However, due to the certain limitations of natural fibres such as moisture absorption, low density and strength, it has been reinforced along with synthetic fibres to transforms their limitations into advantages. Hybrid composites are reasonably high in strength, low in weight and environmental friendly. Moreover, kenaf/glass fibre/epoxy hybrid composites approached the quality perfor-mance and are hybrid composites approached the quality performance and are gaining huge attraction by many researchers. <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> Kenaf is produced into variety of new applications such as building materials, paper products, absorbents and livestock feed which is diverging from its old common role as a cordage crop. In this work, the hybrid composites are prepared through traditional way of layering glass fibre and kenaf fibre with epoxy matrix by using hand and left for cure at room temperature. Then, the effect of fibre orientation at 0/90°, 30° and 45° is investigate through tensile test and flexural test. The different weight ratio of 200gsm woven glass fibre and woven kenaf fibre and total fibre loading at 50% by weight. It is found out that 0/90° fibre orientation is superior in both tensile properties and flexural properties compared to others fibre orientation. While 45° fibre orientation is the lowest for both tensile properties and flexural properties.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> This paper deals about physical properties of jute/kenaf/jute (J/K/J) and kenaf/jute/kenaf (K/J/K) hybrid composites, exposed for seven week water immersion. Kenaf/jute hybrid composites fabricated by hand lay-up technique while maintaining total fibre loading of 30 wt%. An investigation of density, water absorption and thickness swelling of hybrid composites with three layering patterns, and pure epoxy matrix samples were carried out. The composites were immersed in distilled water for a period of 49 days and the desired readings were recorded. The data collections were taken at every odd day for the first week, namely days 0, 1, 3, 5, 7 days and following that every 7th day until the 7th week. The water absorption results showed that J/K/J absorbed less water compared to K/J/K composites. The thickness swelling also showed similar behavior of investigated composites. The density of hybrid composites are showed the almost slightly similar values of all composites specimens. We concluded that J/K/J hybrid composites show better dimensional stability and suitable for further study to fabricate suitable products from it.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The objective of this work is to analyse the water absorption behaviour on the gamma irradiated Kevlar/Oil Palm EFB hybrid composites. The hybrid composites were fabricated through manual hand lay-up method. Different layering sequence of hybrid composites were fabricated which is Oil Palm EFB/Kevlar/ Oil Palm EFB (OP/K/OP) and Kevlar/Oil Palm EFB/Kevlar (K/OP/K). Various Gamma radiation doses; 25 kGy, 50 kGy and 150 kGy were exposed to the composites. The results showed that for both layering pattern, the water absorption for non-irradiated hybrid composites absorbed more water than irradiated hybrid composites. Water uptake for non-irradiated K/OP/K is 51% and with radiation is 21% at 50 kGy. Hybrid OP/K/OP that is not irradiated absorbed less water which is 27% as compared to the same hybrid but with radiation only 17%of water being absorbed at 50 kGy. The results showed that irradiated hybrid composites absorb less water compared to non-irradiated hybrid composites. This suggest that crosslinking took place due to the radiation. This implies that with radiation of certain dose could improves the properties of water absorption for Kevlar/ Oil Palm EFB hybrid composites.</span><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 16px;"><strong>Abstract:</strong> There are various ways to improve the properties of composites such as chemical treatment, plasma treatment, rare earth treatment etc. Using ionizing radiation is also one of the methods that can be used to improve the properties of the materials. The ionizing radiation could be from gamma radiation or Electron Beam Machine (EBM). However, focus is given on the effect of gamma radiation onto the composite materials. This paper provides a review on physical changes to composites after being irradiated with gamma radiation. The physical changes involved in the review were the tensile, flexural and compression properties. From the review, there exist the advantages after being irradiated to gamma radiation whereby the exposure to gamma radiation helps in improving the composites properties.</span><br />
