Abstract: Reinforced concrete structures may be deficient due to various reasons such as improper design of structural elements, deficiency of reinforcement provided, assuming load carrying capacity which is insufficient, etc., from many investigations it is proved that wrapping carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) can be effective solution for confining and strengthening of deficient RC columns. In this experimental study the behavior of CFRP Wrapped structurally damaged small scale square RC columns having cross-sectional area 150mm x 150mm and height of 1500mm with a nominal cover of 20mm have been tested under axial compression under loading frame. These damaged columns are retrofitted with CFRP by providing corner radii of 5mm, 20 mm(nominal cover), are wrapped with CFRP. These retrofitted specimens are tested under Uni-axial compression on loading frame. The results showed that smoothed edges of square cross-section of Reinforced Concrete columns played a significant role in delaying the rupture of the CFRP composite at the edges.

Abstract: The traditional construction process has never been into the scheduling the time and cost management. As a result, there are lost of time, materials, cost and poor quality of construction. In recent years, software’s play vital role in resolving such problems in construction industry, which benefit financial and work management. Primavera is one such software which helps in planning the work to its maximum extent and help in improving the quality and productivity of work. It also helps in efficiently manipulating the project cost. The present study analyses the comparison of financial and work management of a traditionally constructed building (G+4 building, Osmania University, Hyderabad) and implementing the scheduled work and financial management using primavera to the same building and compares the results. The study discusses the pros and cons of the analysis of the above results. Thisstudy relieved that the primavera helps in optimization the construction project in scheduling and improves the productivity. The results will project the earned value graph which show the cost performance index and scheduled performance index of resources.

Abstract: Due to rise in population there has been an immense need in increase of the infrastructure. Since most of the housing in India consists of concrete structures, the waste after demolition of these structures has been gathering. Every time a new structure is built by demolition of an existing one, it gives demolition waste. The amount of such wastes generated is increasing alarmingly and needs to be addressed. These wastes can be recycled and again be used in building new structures to minimize the wastage. It also has a positive effect on the environment. The urgent need for recycling these wastes can be seen in metropolitan cities where there is booming population and hence the need for new buildings. These new buildings shall be designed to accommodate more over a small area. Therefore, it shall contribute to the concrete wastes later on after completion of its life period. So, by every means, there is a need to control the wastes generated. The best effective method is recycling. The methodology used in this present study is recycling of the demolition waste and comparing the recycled material properties to naturally available material properties. Finally, the results will be projected to show that, use of recycled materials in normal construction works will be a solution to reduce the usage of natural resources and reduce the waste print in construction work.

Abstract: Expanded epidemic outbreaks and spreading of infections due to inappropriate waste administration in urban areas which are having a drastic and exponential population growth. In current circumstances, the Garbage Collecting Vehicle (GCV) amasses the waste few times in a week. In this way, the issue is over streaming of wastage on the streets. Thus, to beat this restriction, in the present thesis a different scheme on smart waste management using Radio-Frequency identification devices(RFID),Machine to machine(M2M), pneumatic system, Internet of things(IOT), plasma technology are explained in detail and the best method of treating solid waste using smart solid waste management techniques is suggested basing upon the Summary of the data collected from Tullur, Rayapudi, Velagapudi, Nelapadu villages respectively, Where one of these new systems is implemented. After gathering the questionnaire, which is prepared basing upon the Quantitative survey, the results were analyzed using mathematical methods and confirm the advanced techniques in SWM Is better than traditional or conventional methods.

Abstract: Project scheduling in construction refers to a roadmap of all activities of the project that should be done in a given order and within the time allotted to each activity. In 1910 Henry Laurence Gantt created Gantt chart to plan, coordinate and monitor construction sequence over time. It became the most used technique for scheduling, but it does not visualize the construction progress to users and also do not have the ability for clash detection. As the global construction projects are expanding day by day there is a rise in demand on resources, so there is an increasing need for a sustainable process for construction scheduling. 4D BIM (Building information modelling) is the proposed solution for the above problem. Through this technology, stakeholders and contractors can envision project success from design to construction while construction project managers can aggregate model data and quickly react to changes in real time. 4D BIM is adding the 3D model to time (schedule). It is a process that can add a lot of value to design and construction saving both time and money. The present papers studies about the importance of 4D BIM in construction scheduling and reveals the perceived value of 4D BIM in construction. This study mainly concentrates on simulation of construction sequence using 4D BIM for integrated project delivery and effective utilization of 4D application in BIM to resolve design conflicts and monitoring the project status by visualizing the time constraints.

Abstract: Deep excavations in high groundwater levels, industrial area and large constructions with heavy structures is a challenge, where secant piling techniques are one of the best solutions. The wall which is constructed by series of piles is embedded as a retaining wall. These are constructed by overlapping of reinforced concrete piles and plain concrete piles. In this paper the bending performance and the shear strength of different layers of the soil with a secant pile made of Reinforced Concrete Pile (RCP) and Plain Concrete Piles (PCP) are arranged alternately overlapped with each other for the retaining support to the earth. In this paper, an attempt has been made to study the effect of secant pile wall capacity, lateral displacement and bending moment of wall from elastic and plastic stage by using Time History analysis.

Abstract: Bubble deck slab can be achieved by reducing the weight of the slab by eliminating unwanted concrete which is not playing the role in the interlocking of aggregate for shear resistance and the remaining concrete act as the compression block for flexural resistance. Further, the larger spans with less design loads to the columns and footings without compromising flexural strength of the slab with minimum deflections are possible with this renowned technology. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the structural behaviour of bubble deck slab. The analytical and experimental studies on bubble deck slabs under general loading to know the structural behaviour has been presented in this article. The structural behaviour of the bubble deck slab has been assessed through flexural strength, shear strength, punching shear, anchoring, crack pattern, fire resistance, creep, crack pattern. From the review of literature, it has been concluded that the bubble deck slabs are more economical and efficient with respect to structural integrity while comparing with conventional slabs.

Abstract: Ground water is one of the major sources that contribute to the total annual supply. The explosive growth and uneven distribution of population, poor irrigation practices, rapid urbanization/industrialization, large-scale deforestation and improper land use practices creates depletion of ground water. Therefore, increases demand of water for agriculture, household and industry. The objective of this paper is to review techniques and methodologies applied for identifying groundwater potential zones using GIS and remote sensing. In order to evaluate the ground water potential zones, different thematic maps such as geology, slope, soil, drainage density map, Land use and Land cover and surface water bodies at a 1: 50000 scale were prepared, using remotely-sensed data as well as topographical sheets and secondary data, collected from concern department. The prepared thematic layers are further used for mapping and identification of groundwater potential zone and analysis. A probability weighted approach has been applied during overlay analysis of thematic maps in ARC GIS. This produces ground potential map considering linear combination of weights of each thematic map. This map shows good, moderate, poor and very poor ground potential zones. This groundwater potential information will be useful for effective identification of Ground water condition.

Abstract: Presently there’s a growing tendency of using CFS in construction disclosed by great solidarity to cost proportion. The adoption of CFS has been increasing considerably in structural applications due to their light weight, high strength to weight ratio, ease of fabrication, erection, economy. The study of connections is essential for any type of structure because it is always desirable that structural member should fail first instead of connection. If the failure of connections happens before the member then it will cause of brittle failure. The focus of forming an innovative sections profiles is not only complex but also time consumes, sometimes the section fails before reaching its ultimate strength because the geometry plays a crucial role. This paper address the developing of built up open section cold formed steel beam based on American standard. In subsequent paper predicted to the DSM (Direct Strength Method) for an I section of mechanical model and also the parametric study is carried by experimental and finite element results. Rephrase AISI- S100-07 slenderness limits for section undergoes to bending are analyzed.

Abstract: In this present research agricultural byproducts obtained at the industry of palm oil is used a coarse aggregate in the concrete. The palm oil shells (OPS) are the waste from the palm oil industry. For this study 30% (0,10,20 and 30) of coarse aggregate are replaced with OPS. for this study M30 grade concrete is designed by adding 0.2% electro-chemical resistances (ECR) glass fiber to the volume of the concrete and to be reduced the greenhouse gases from the cement industry replacing the cement with ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) up to 30% (0,10,20 and 30)) are used. For this concrete strength (compressive strength, split tensile strength, and modulus of rupture), and durability of Sulphate attack, Acid attack and Chloride attack are done. All the results are compared with normal concrete.
